Souvenirs are a great way to bring home a piece of your vacation. And if you’re a local, they make great gifts when you head out of town! The trouble is, sometimes it can be overwhelming. There are so many places to go, things to buy, so I narrowed down a list of my favorite souvenirs that guest’s love and those that have been well received by their recipients!
MINI OSCAR: Naturally, a mini Oscar is a great gift to bring home. They are a little predictable, but everyone secretly loves the idea of getting a Oscar! From “Best Friend” to “Best Dad” to even “Best Teacher,” you can find an award for nearly everyone in your life.
FUNNY T-SHIRTS: I’m partial to the classic Venice Beach t-shirts. Mainly because my mother has made me buy her so many of them over the years, but they are also pretty fun! And really? Everyone can enjoy a funny shirt!
SEE’S CANDY: There’s a reason why every terminal at LAX has a place to buy See’s Candy, it’s so good! Chocolate is such a classic gift, and this LA-based chocolatier does not disappoint! Chocolate not your game? Their Peanut Brittle is pretty delightful. My Grandmother gets one every time I visit her.
IN-N-OUT MERCHANDISE: SO, as great as it would be to bring home a Double-Double with fries and shake, that generally doesn’t travel well. But they do sell hats, shirts, stickers, and all sort of other goodies that do make great gifts! Trust me, they are a pretty decent consolation prize for missing out on the real deal. If merchandise is what your hoping to get out of your trip to Los Angeles, then this is a great place to start. You can also check out websites similar to Mato and Hash and others like it, to get a hoodie or t-shirt customized the way you want it to remind you of your time there. A unique takeaway from your trip.
GADGETS: You can’t go wrong with a cool gadget. Sure it’s might not class as a “funny” souvenir, but I just thought I would include this type of thing in my list, as everybody loves getting something that is super useful. You could even check out this gift guide if you wanted to get a bit more information on what sort of gadget you could get. Trust me, you can’t go wrong if you get them something which you know that they would really appreciate!
Of course, there are loads of other fun things to buy and take home, but hopefully this gives you a direction to start your souvenir treasure hunt! If you found a rad gift or souvenir in LA, share it below! I’d love to hear what you found!
