Look no further than the beautiful Santa Maria Valley!

This picturesque destination is just what you need to unplug and recharge from your daily routine.

Where to Stay: Wine Stone Inn

Nestled in the quaint town of Orcutt, CA, the Wine Stone Inn is a charming boutique hotel that offers a cozy and relaxing atmosphere for your stay.

With just 12 rooms, it is cozy and comfortable, yet modern and fresh in design. The staff is super friendly, making you’ll feel right at home in this lovely retreat.

Bonus: They set up a little breakfast bar for light bites in the morning and do a fun wine happy hour in the evenings. Love the communal feel in the lobby area!

Wine is par for the course in Santa Maria.

With so many wineries to choose from, the Wine Trolley is a great way to get a taste for the options within a short radius of Old Orcutt.
Running every Saturday and Sunday through November 26, 2023 (plus Labor Day and Black Friday), the trolley starts at Costa de Oro and takes approximately 65 minutes to complete its loop–but we all know you’ll want to take your time at the stops.

Since passengers can hop on and off at their convenience, plan for it to be a fun afternoon activity.

Wine Lovers Rejoice: Bien Nacido’s First Tasting Room

Bien Nacido has a long, rich history in Santa Maria Valley.

So it is pretty exciting that they have decided to a new tasting room in honor of their 50th anniversary!

This is a must-visit spot for wine enthusiasts (or novices) looking to sample some of the most well-known wines from the region.

Satisfy Your Cravings: Top Eats in Santa Maria Valley

Santa Maria Valley is certainly known for its Santa Maria Style barbecue (spices, not sauces!), but it’s also a haven for foodies!

With so many diverse options, influenced by local favorites to cuisines from around the world, there is something for everyone. A few of my favorites I always make sure to stop by when I visit SMV:

Nightcap at Steller’s Cellar

Trust me.

For those who enjoy a nightcap, Steller’s Cellar is the perfect spot. This was a new discovery for me on my last trip!

This cute wine store meets wine bar offers a cozy atmosphere where you can hang out with the locals and enjoy a glass of your favorite wine.

Honestly, you’ll probably leave with a bottle… or five. The selection in the store is pretty amazing!

Outdoor Adventures: Trails Galore

Part of the appeal to Santa Maria Valley is also getting the chance to unplug in nature, and Santa Maria Valley has no shortage of trails to choose from.

One of my personal favorites is Rice Ranch Trail, which offers stunning views and a serene atmosphere for a leisurely hike.

That’s A Wrap!
