An introduction or re-introduction for those following this space. Hello 👋🏻 I’m Sarah Dandashy!
The quick highlight intro:
I’m a former award-winning hotel concierge who went from sharing travel advice + recs in-person behind a desk to sharing it on social. That led me to working with all sorts of incredible brands around the world, covering travel on TV, and even writing a book! I am half-Lebanese 👀, was born in PA, & grew up in Atlanta, Saudi Arabia, London, & DC.
The real stuff:
My passion has always been in storytelling and connecting humans through emotions.
I never set out to become a concierge, I fell into it, and realized I had the right attitude for it. I’ve always worked multiple jobs, starting at 15 and all throughout school. To this day, I’m juggling at least 5-8 projects at once. Hard work and integrity are my North stars, and most everything is negotiable.
I got a fancy Foreign Service degree, because it “made sense.” Of course, I studied politics… but also acting, filmmaking, writing, music history, women’s studies, and religion.
My brain is a “solver,” I would do math puzzles before going to sleep as a kid. But it’s also creative. I’d sometimes stay up half the night painting in my mother’s loft listening to 80s music.
I’ve never fit in, so I’ve always been drawn to others who don’t quite either. And I’ve always found myself around interesting people.
I love to dance, I’m sometimes goofy, and yes, for goodness sakes, I’m tall. 🤦🏼♀️
So that’s a bit more about “me.” More than just travel tips + recommendations. I’m all about curiosity, inspiration, and being introspective from time to time. It’s just how my brain operates. Luckily, travel ties nicely into all of that.
So now that I’ve officially over-shared. 🫣 Hi again!
And if you read this all, I hope you felt a little more connected. We are just humans after all. ❤️ Thanks for swinging by!
